Getting New Technology for Less

Precision Upgrade Kits (PUK's) have become more and more common as John Deere has released more tools and features over the years. These kits designed to upgrade your existing equipment to something newer or better without buying a whole new machine and trading or selling the old one. For example, you could take a ground drive 2014 1770NT planter and turn it into an electric drive planter with individual row hydraulic downforce. That's a 10-year-old planter with the functions of a new one, now with warranty! You can also add cross-auger shutoffs or adjustable unloading auger spouts to certain combines or even boom recirculate and reclaim on certain sprayers. All while keeping the equipment you already own.

Trade in your technology, not your machine.

Planters: Planter PUK options depend on the model and year of existing planter, but nearly any can be updated. Planters can have Individual Row Hydraulic Downforce (IRHD) installed, as well as electric drive meters such as ME5e or the top of the line ExactEmerge™ brush belt meters. This would give your existing planter the functions and features of a newer one, such as turn compensation, higher speed accuracy, better seed placement, etc. 

Combines: Combine PUK options are dependent on the model and year of machine. S6 Series (ex: S680) can have LED lights installed. S7 Series (ex: S780) combines can have the LED lights installed, as well as cross-auger shutoffs or an adjustable auger spout. Both options are integrated into the hydro handle and the auger spout is also on the armrest touch screen.

Sprayers: Sprayer PUK options are dependent on the model and year of the machine. Individual Nozzle Control Pro will turn an existing sprayer into one where you can control each nozzle for section control. An ExactApply™ PUK includes the individual nozzle control and incorporates automatic rate/pressure PWM functions using nozzle A, B, or both to get the proper rate/pressure on the fly as speeds change or turns are made. With properly mapped field boundaries, we've seen time savings of over 50% when spraying fields with terraces, contours, or waterways when compared to their old sprayer. Product Reclaim & Pressure Recirculation PUKs stop product from settling in the plumbing by keeping the solution in motion. Coupled with product reclaim and boom air purge, these features save precious time, product, and expense when rinsing and priming the boom while switching solutions. No more backing into a corner or ditch to purge or prime the boom, that solution is already back in the tank and boom purged or primed.
